I'm a Fish!
I have contacted several dive ops in Roatan and they all say they do not rent tanks and weights.:shocked2:

A small group of us have rented a house on the water. The reef is a short swim in front of the house and we have use of a small boat and a couple Bladefish.

Can anyone please guide me to a dive shop that rents tanks + weights?

I'm sure this is to get more people on the boats, we do plan to do some boat dives also but this seems wrong.:hm:

Thanks,

That was our observation when we were there a couple of summers ago. They want you using the dive operations and getting on the boats it seems. We spent a day off from boat diving at West Bay Beach and I sure would have liked to have had a tank with me.

If we bring our tanks can we get them filled anywhere?

Another odd thing is I am not finding any Dive Shops, is there any stores that sell equipment other then the resorts?

Thanks,

Maybe check with Coconut Tree Divers, they have a compressor onsite. As they're more of a West End dive shop than on-site at a resort they may be able to help you out. Maybe they'll rent you some of these?

I don't believe any of the AI's allow you to take tanks off-site but I could be wrong.

Barefoot Divers at Barefoot Cay (south side) has a decent retail shop.

There's a also a Mares store/outlet in the West End - at Half Moon Plaza IIRC.

Pura Vida advertises $5 fills, IDK any details.

We also were looking to do some shorediving a couple years ago - it seemed possible to do Spooky Channel from one of several entry points but we ran out of time before we could sort it out.

You might also check with Subway Watersports if you haven't already.
