No problem, LOL and really we just ran into a crap load of mishaps, I seriously doubt many have had this many issues with one trip. Just the luck of the draw. We do not regret going because had we not experienced it we would have always wondered what the diving was like in Roatan.Sorry bud:depressed:. It was one of those things that you see/hear, but don't give it a second thought. Then, all of a sudden, at a later date it pops into your head and is important (usually too late though.).
You make a great point. This is simply a case of being in the middle of something and always hoping the next dive is better but it usually is not. They ran three boats while we were there. One they called the family boat, it had a lot of young divers on it and we really did not pay much attention to the third boat, they seemed to always be ahead of us and unloaded before we got back. We really liked diving with Darin but if you have been there you will realize Darin's boat is a little less punctual than the others. I suppose we could have created a seen and switched but we all liked our captain (Rocky)and Darin, the next thing you know the week is over. What was the story with the other boats during the week? No chance to change boats? I just keep thinking about this cattle boat thingie... I've had bad folks on 6 packs and massive cats. Clearly there was something else going on that u don't want to discuss (which is fine by the way) effecting the group. Otherwise they for sure did not micro-manage so under normal conditions you go off and do your own thing and return to the boat in 60+ mins...
Thank you. Maybe some of it had to do with the diving itself just not being what we were expecting. The last two spot this group has been to was 2 years ago at Ambergris Key which is just top notch diving, period. The group went to Bonnaire last year however I was not on that trip so everything about this place was compared to these. If this place was a lot easier to get to it would be a different story.Hey we had our problems with FI, but loved the diving. Even the 3 sep boat dives were fine. I do agree that a 2 tank morning might be nice, but you could also take a 2nd tank and asked to be dropped on the way back! We talked about going back there last Sept, but the number of flights and expense ruled it out even from the nyc area. So I agree with u 100% on limiting the number of connections to a dest! We ended up going to Bonaire instead this time. Ease of diving and great small stuff reminded me of Roatan. Much less trouble with bugs, food and water thoughSure hope you have better luck next time!
