It is the goal of DEEP to help create natural predators of the lionfish in the invasive areas. We promote leaving speared lionfish on the reef for eels, shark, groupers, etc. to eat and to learn that lionfish are a great food source. We are strongly against feeding any animals from the end of a spear; this teaches predators that divers and spears = food.
Travel dates are October 17-25, 2014.

Teams of 2-4 will compete for more than $3,000.00 in prizes over a 2 day derby. Prizes awarded for Biggest, Smallest, Most Lionfish and Best Team Name as voted on by other competitors.
Make New Friends: After the catch has been recorded for REEF data collection we will cook it up for our Feeding Frenzy and share it with the locals.
Help the Children: Bring school supplies and sports equipment to donate to local schools.
