We will be in Honduras for 17 days....9 on the mainland and 8 on Roatan. We have two questions:

1) How can we have our laundry done while on Roatan? We don't want to haul around 17 days of clothes!!!

2) Should we carry cash, travelers checks or are credit cards accepted everywhere?

Thanks
Roger

I remember seeing signs for laundry services. I always carry cash in small bills when traveling in Central America. Although I will admit that it seemed that in Roatan credit cards and travelers checks seemed more widely accepted than in most places. If you pay cash allot of places will not charge you the taxes for things like hotels and diving. With travelers checks most do not want you to fill out anything but you signature.

If you are diving with Coconut Tree you can drop the laundry off in the morning and it will be returned later that day. They use a company called cocos laundry. It costs 10lempira (50c) a pound minimum 6 pounds.

Pretty much so any DM will arrange for his wife to handle laundry for you. More upscale resorts offer it as a service. Be very specific if you want it some particular way- otherwise you might get it whatever way she is used to. Your comfy cotton might get starched and pressed! They also seem to have a thing for Lavender Boquet brand soap.

There are more female DMs than male in West End nowadays! - They find it harder to get their husbands to do the laundry though!;)

You're not complaining about that little shift in demographics, now are you Will?
