Hi all my friends,
I have made plans 2 stay at fantasy island with 6 days of diving by my self the end of april and have never ben 2 roatan , i would like alot 2 here some dos and donts before i go , thanks a lott,rick..

Do bring off or some sort of bugs replent. Don't lay on the beach, as the sand fleas will bite you. You can put your beach chair out in the water a bit and you'll be fine. Make sure you put the bug spray on you legs before you walk around. again, the bugs will get you.
Try to get a room closer to the dive op. It is easier to get back and forth that way, and a bit quieter. FI is a nice place, more european then other resorts in the area in my opnion. Really nice dive folks there. You might also want to bring some imodium if your not used to traveling. I sometimes get problems when I travel to places like that.
Take an eveing and go check out the West end or do it on your last day when you can't dive. Skip the Canopy tour. Too much walking up hills in the heat. Any other questions? i alsways get a beer at the airport first thing, kinda starts the vacation for me. SALVA VIDA baby!!

Go slowly, very, very slowly.

Stay with your DM.

If he can't show you a Sea Horse every dive, find a new DM. If he shows you a PipeFish and a Nudibranch (not a Flamingo Tongue), buy him several beers.

Avon Skin so Soft 16oz bottle mixed with sm bottle Bens 100 or Muskall which are both about 100% Deet will keep those biters at bay.

Have fun and take a wander over to AKR for a Monkeylada for me.

Definately pack the bug repellant and sun screen, depending on the rain and winds bugs may an issue. Bring some comfortable sandals to walk in, and some type of rain/wind breaker. I stayed at a resort that claimed to have an independant rain water supply and 14 out of 18 guests had Montazuma's by the third day. I am not familar with FI's water supply but after my two experiences to the island I would not so much as get a drink with local ice. I you have a sensitive stomach start chewing pepto tablets 1-2 before you leave and continue to do so while you are there and that should fend of the terror of the Montazuma. Bring a token gift or two to give to your dive master the first morning. You would be amazed the treatment you might get over handing out a $5.00 pair of rubber work gloves, or some mask clear. If your feeling adventureous check out the west end one night lots of different places to check out.

We had no problem with FI water when we were there.

thanks 4 the help and hope all of u have a great day, rick.

Go to Waiuku for the shark dive (usualy thursday) money well spent , Best food on the Island imo is Geos in french Harbor, West end is best for shopping and some good eats. Canopy tour in the east end about 5 min from FI is a blast do the extreme tour.
