You bet.
Critters like light, and a Full Moon is a good thing.
October is not the best time of year for the Caribbean weather patterns, but Roatan will give you the best shot at avoiding much of the bad stuff.
I have been told be more than a few old time mariners in the Bay Islands that Full Moons usually mean "settled weather". That has usually proven out to be true for me.
This is the time of year, now through February, where the shelter offered by the South side environs becomes a real plus. North and West can get pretty rough due to "Northers" and passing tropical storms that usually track by on the North, most of them 90 miles away smacking into Belize or curving clockwise to Cozumel, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, etc.
Full Moons attract life in the water column. At night, this can also mean Sea Wasps (also commonly misnomered as Box Jellies) and since they feed on the all but invisible micro critters, you can deduce that larger animals in the food chain will follow suit. It is an excellent impetus to night dive as much as possible, altho you will note an increased activity of populations during daylight feeding hours.
The high point in October this year will be the last week 10/24-31
I will be on Roatan in April 2016 and am looking for fellow SB'ers to join us...
Anybody want to join us at CocoView in April 2016?
Consider one or both weeks, Saturday April 16-23, Saturday April 23-30 with an April 22 FULL MOON
Not running a formal trip here, but if you call 800 510-8164 and ask to be on "Doc's Trip", we will take you out on night dives with Black Lights, and you'll get a nice underwater magnifier and tips on finding micro (not just macro) critters.
