CCV for me too. I love to dive and don’t really care for fine dining or useless fluff. Really liked my trip there. Viz was good, plenty of critters
Food was basic, but tasty and plentiful.
The old saw ,”dive, eat, sleep, and repeat “ was very true
For it was a great match but YMMV

I will be an exception and vote for AKR.

At the time of writing the price per person for high season 2026 for a seven-night stay with twelve guided boat dives is nearly identical at both resorts, so that wouldn't be a factor in the decision for me. I can certainly see the attraction of CCV's additional unlimited shore diving (24/7) and the optional "swim home from the boat" tanks after their guided dives, but two dives per day for six days in a row for me is enough in terms of energy level. I also prefer the AKR schedule to be able to do the guided boat dives relatively back-to-back instead of spreading them out further over the day the way CCV does.

Also, for a trip in May/June I think my chances for good viz would be better on the AKR side of the island than the CCV side - the trade winds from the east can be quite strong at that time of year which can churn up the "south side" (where CCV is) somewhat and then even if the winds die down it can take a while for all the particulates to settle back down and give us better visibility. AKR and the dive sites they generally frequent are more sheltered from those winds so while of course not guaranteed I put the chances of good viz at that time of year better at AKR than at CCV.

It's almost a coin toss - one can have a great diving vacation at either resort, and you can find many SB trip reports on both to support that statement - but for me if choosing between those two resorts for a week in May/June, it would be Anthony's Key Resort.

I've been to CocoView 5 times over many years - it has significantly improved since 2020, and a lot of the staff are there from years ago. It is not salubrious by any means, but clean and comfortable and the food good (Honduran style, which I prefer). The boats are great and the DMs really knowledgeable about the area, and where to find certain creatures. Tanks are available 24/7 pretty much - so we got in quite a few night and dawn dives in addition to the 4 standard dives a day.
I've not been to AKR but have friends that have, love it - AKR is more of a resort, so not the same experience - it really depends what you are looking for.

My next trip to RTB will likely be "None of the Above".

I've done both CCV and AKR a couple of times, but I think I'll try something different. But if I had to choose between the two, I would probably head back to AKR. CCV dropping me on the same walls or wreck twice daily and calling that two of the four featured daily dives got tiresome and by the last couple of days I would just as soon gone back to the dock on the boat. Doing the same dive location 11 times in the week?
