RIviera Maya in December

Hey everybody,

My wife and I are heading to Riviera Maya in December and are thinking of doing some ocean diving while there. My question is about the quality of the reefs off of Tulum and Akumal. I have heard some rumors that they are in tough shape. How bad are they?

Also are there any dive spots in that area that are worth diving?

My wife and I have been there twice. The reef diving was...fine. But the dives that we loved the most were the cenote dives.

x2 on the cenote diving. I dove the reef once the rest of the time the weather did not allow ocean dives. I took a charter to cozumal and did a drift dive there on the leaward side of the island. it was good too.

Thanks everyone! I will seriously have to think about it. I would love to get over to Cozumel but am only in the Roo for a week and not sure the wife would sacrifice the entire day for the trip...Have to tray some convincing!

No one leaves Cozumel disappointed, it's a must see if you go to Quintana Roo. Over 30 different dive sites suitable for beginners and advanced divers. Reef formation and huge and in the best condition you can expect.
