I'm sure this has been covered many times, but I'm wondering how long I should wait before worrying?

Went diving last week to 90ft and had a hard time equilazing.Coming back up I got an ear imbalance which caused vertigo, shortly followed by ringing.

I went to my doctor who indicated my eardrum was sucked in.
He said not to worry and to continue trying to equalize.

Well It's now been a week of Sinutab, altough I can sometimes seem to equalize and some of my hearing has returned ( I'm about 50% now) the ringing is still very persistant. My ears are full feeling but I never have had the hollow echo sound.

How much longer should I wait before rushing back to my doctor.

Thanx

If a diver has ringing or diminished hearing a week after a dive, its clearly time to see a doc.

If the diver developed an infection or a ruptured ear drum, most of the time these will heal properly in due time.

However, if this is due to a ruptured oval window, it get substantially more complicated as there is a larger risk of complete deafness if diver dove again. It requires a evaluation by a good ENT or diving doc. Call DAN for one near you.
