I quit in January 99, and if I could do it you can. So hang in there. As of now it should have been about 5 days so give the update here.

And by the way, after a while, you start looking at smokers and saying to yourself, gee, did I look that silly? ;)

Hey Andy, Happy Non-Smoker Birthday!. Today is my birthday, so tomorrow I'll give myself a belated present. 1 week smoke-free! best present I could ask for!

Everyone, thanks very much for the support. Believe me, your words have helped during those "special times" of the day that smoking used to be a part of. Morning coffee has been hell , but I have made it through 6 of them so far.

I can smell, I can smell, I can smell again!!

Has anyone noticed a change in their air consumption after quitting? More bottom time would be a great side benefit.

ah...well... hmm...

yes, i noticed a change in my air consumption.

i became an air hog.

don't worry, it got better again. those first few months
were murder on my SAC, though...

You can do it. I gave up smokes after almost 20 years of a pack and a half a day habit. It is almost 8 years now. It feels great. It sucks the first few weeks then the withdrawl starts fading.
