So, I ordered a super duper stainless depth compensating buckle to replace the wonky plastic one on my weight belt. [Scuba.com]
Buckle For a picture of the unit

When this buckle came in, i noticed that it only had 2 slots instead of 3. The slots are thin enough that the belt can only pass through each slot one time. What is the best way to rig this ?

I came from under the first slot, then down through the second slot, then folded the excess webbing back toward the weights. It just doesnt seem right. I would feel more comfortable with it if I was able to pass the belt through the first slot a second time, but it just wont fit.

I looked around but could only find info on rigging a 3 slot buckle.

Any ideas?
Im thinking maybe I could take the loose end and sew it back on the belt or something.
