This place was billed as basic but good. I would go beyond that, as our diving was excellent, the service was good, and the food was good.

The facility is old, but well kept and cleaned. It was freshly painted and we had daily maid service. We would eat breakfast at 7:30 and on the boat at 8:30. They picked up the gear from our door the night before and had it all set up the next day on the boat ready to go. They would ask you to sit at the end of the boat, put on your fins, and they would bring your gear to you. You dive, then get up out of the boat and they would be there to take the gear off you, change it for the next dive. Very good service.

The diving is excellent - saw sharks on every dive. The reef is in very good condition and full of marine life. The upper walls and shallower areas are filled with macro photo ops but the deeper seascapes are as beautiful. Saw the hammerheads and rays as promised. The over diving was excellent for marine life and health of the reef.

These were the friendliest people we've visited on our travels. They were anxious to please and willing to help anyway they could. After diving we would have lunch then another dive in the afternoon. One night dive in the week. Toward the end of the week, we could make requests for dive locations. Our favorites were Double Caves, Hole in the Wall, Vicky's Place and Runway 10 - especially when the big airbus from Paris flies in!

See our full picture gallery here and our review here. San Salvador is not for the beginner or newbie diver unless you have Mike Nelson as your father! However, for the experienced diver (familiar with wall diving and depth diving), this is a wonderful place - probably the best in the Bahamas. This is a place we will definitely return.
