Continental is in fact consolidating flights for the next few weeks, and will be returning to a normal schedule after Thanksgiving. This is great news for Cozumel and Cozumel lovers
I was scheduled to go back on the 13th, and received an automated call today. My heart sank thinking they were once again canceling my flight home (this would have been the 3rd time).
When I called it was good news, they had simply rescheduled me for the following day! They will have three flights a week through the 24th, and then will resume to one flight daily. Then, instead of having the 12:15 and 3:00ish departures out of Coz, they will have one late afternoon flight, I think at 4:20pm. The incoming flight from Houston is now departing Houston at 1:15pm, instead of 9:15am allowing for more connections from other cities.
The two flight per day schedule will resume in January or February as things improve and more hotels open!
They are currently flying one or two flights per day to Cancun, and that will resume to 4 to 6 flights daily as things improve as well. SO, if you can't get to Coz on the exact date you want to, you CAN get to CUN.
I also talked to my amiga Michaela of Liquid Blue today and she was very positive and upbeat and gave me alot of great positive news!
I also received an e-mail from Margaret (Papa Hogs) in response to the mail I sent her about donations to the Coz relief fund for their shop. She was very appreciative and said her guys will be very happy and appreciative! She had positive news and said they are definitely ready for people to come back as well! So come on down!
Today was a great day and Cozumel is coming back stronger and better than before!!!
