They got back to me via that e-mail address.......I got their info, am still trying to collate different resorts.......I am wondering if the entire area is considered upscale, as it seems considerably more expensive so far compared to P.G.

In P.G. there are places that are $15 a night and $22 a dive.

rooms are generally more expensive in anilao but not necessarily better. on the upside, dives in anilao can be half the price of PG dives.

i would try where i have been twice and where the local PPDers always go. Its called Aquaventure. I really like it, the staff is excellent, the food is very very good and lots of it. Its not "upscale" but the rooms are very nice and the rates are very reasonable.

The only problem with Anilao compared to PG is you pay the boat, not the dive. So if its only you, it will be more expensive. If there are more than just you the price goes down....

there are a good number of decent resorts on anilao... from posh (solana/ eagle point) to comfy and just right (aquaventure/ balai/ outrigger)

mikey's right about the dive rates though... you can get dives for about $10 if you get 6 divers (5 if you hire a local guide) on the same boat... even less if you do a shore dive...

planet dive and divers' sanctuary both have dive-all-you-can shore entry packages at something like $25... can't get that anywhere else

that's right, rooms in anilao are expensive, aquaventure does not charge per room but per person, (750/person or 1,300/person per night, depends if it's aircon or fan) but the diving of course is cheaper and the people who work there are absolutely great, they remember and take care of you well. :)
