Researching Cairns for Late Jan/Early Feb

Hi! I'm planning on getting down to Cairns for some diving in late Jan/early Feb. From the posts I've already decided liveaboards are the way to go but was wondering about a few other things.Water temps and apparel recommendations? Will me going by myself be an issue with finding a dive buddy there? Anything else you can give me tips on? Thanks in advance. Michael

Cairns Discount Dive Trips

In January it is rainy season. Doesnt mean its going to ran all the time, but be prepared. Its hot and humid, but at sea its beautiful. Only concern is the occasional cyclone! Trips may cancell due to cyclonic weather but this is rare.

Most boats supply 5mm shorties which is more than adequate. I ususlly dont wear a wet suit that time of year, but if you are diving 4 times a day you may feel the cold after a while.

On the live aboards you will have plenty of people in a similar situation regarding buddies. You will be buddied up with buddy of similar level and there will be plenty of crew to help out too.

You will have a ball!
