Yup.. you waste time retrieving a reg underwater. If they had it out, they almost certainly already have water in the airway. On the way up you can cup your hand over the mouth to lower water intake, but why waste time getting the reg, putting in the mouth, etc? If it were me, just get me the hell up and to more help.

Keep the old, scribble in notes. 30:2 compressions to breaths for kids and up (different for babies), you will get that in EFR/First aid training.

You will love this class. It is mine, and many of my friends, favorite course. Let us know if they only show you boat-based rescue, shore-based rescue or both.... It seems likely to be boat-based only for Cozumel, but it would be nice to hear about...
