Request for Sticky...clone list.

Hello All,

This might make a good Sticky, but then again last suggestion I had is an embarrassing "no one interested" post.

Often in the Regulator Forum there is mention of a "clone" of regulator A or S etc. Could we get a list of First stages and their clones or perhaps meld it with the First Stage Chart Sticky.....possibly a separate one for Second stages?

This might make finding parts and service a bit easier.

It's a good idea.

There are some clones for which the parts are cross referenced and fully interchangeable as they are made in the same production facilities. For example:

Scubapro Mk 16 - Tusa RS-460

Scubapro Mk 5 - Tusa Imprex (although the word "Imprex" has been much more widely used by Tusa since then)

Scubapro Air 2 - Tusa IR3 Duo Air

However there are other clones that range from licensed copies produced with different tooling to vaugely similar designs that may have little or no parts interchageability with the originals. There are also designs that look very similar externally, but are in fact entirely different designs and are not clones at all.

So any list of clones would have to be carefully constructed by people familiar with both the orignal design and the clone to ensure the parts do in fact interchange.
