As a long time diver, (35 years) I am amazed how dense the kelp and the eel grass is this year. Otter Cove is nearly not accessible due to a huge overgrowth of eel grass. Lover's Point east has a large growth of kelp, so be sure and have plenty of air left when coming back. The rest of the dive sites are not too bad, and right now it's calmer than I've ever seen it. I have noticed that Monastery can be calm on the surface, and have lots of surge below. This is only for advanced divers anyway. A note about Breakwater. It may seem boring, but if it's calm, try swimming close to the breakwater rocks that line the pier. There is often lots of life to see. Now get out there and dive!
