I'm about to replace the battery of my old USD Divers Monitor 2 computer. I have the new battery and sealant. I'm in the process of resoldering the wires to the new battery but noticed the wires coming from the main board are brittle.

I am thinking of prying off the sealant on the board to resolder new wires but I wonder if this is a possible and worth the trouble?

I know I'd be better off buying a new computer but I can't afford it just yet and dive season is just a few weeks away.

Thanks.
