Repairing Dry Gloves

On my last dive, I somehow put a pretty deep cut into the thumb of one of my SI-Tech dry gloves (the blue rubber ones). I am not quite sure how it happened, but I was curious if there was any specialized products out there that would help patch such a problem. The cut does not go all the way through the gloves and I was able to do a second dive without any leakage problems, but I am worried that it will eventually split open in the future. Could I just get something at the hardware store that would do the trick?

You can try Seam Seal. Not sure how long it will last though.

Aquaseal works great. Make sure the area is clean and dry and apply two thin coats.

Replacement gloves are cheaply purchased at Seattle Marine and after having gone through all of my lined replacements I am now using the even cheaper non-lined version. Several side benefits are that the liners are cheap and can be switched between dives if damp and the linerless gloves are easier to install on the rings. BTW... the poly liners I bought cost $.37 a pair (three for a buck) are excellent! I also bought some $5 thermax liners and they were not as good.

All that said, I've used aquaseal on glove cuts to good effect.

Different liner. The yellow fuzzy liners are more. The ones that I use are green knit poly and come only to the wrist joint. At $.37 they are the (cheap) ticket.
