I think you should view this problem as an opportunity to ditch the jacket BC and try a backplate/wing system. You'll probably love it, most people that actually try them do. Get something that uses a metal plate, a simple webbing harness without any padding, and a small narrow wing (aircell). There are about one million ( a conservative estimate) threads on this topic on the BC forum, so you can read about it until you're ready to give up diving!
