Removing the hood of a Sherwood Profile Console

I am new to owning my gear and need to find the serial number of my Sherwood Profile computer but unfortunately the number is on the side of the computer under the hood. Are there any tricks to remove the hood on this console. I just don't want to force anything.

On a Suunto placing the computer in some warmish water (not hot) makes the casing more pliable and allows you to remove it. I imagine the same trick will work for you.
