After multiple failures with the HR transmitter, including the new digital one, I've given up, and am wondering if there's a way to remove it from the display?

As I understand it, under workload you can set it to off. It then reads off on the "light" display, permanently. On this one I would complain about what boxes on the "light" display we have control over, perhaps Scubapro has some options, many suggest giving their tech support email a jingle, perhaps if more people complain they will listen. I have the box sitting there with off in the window and am asking myself the exact same as you are.
