I have a Sherwood BCD and I would like to remove some of the clips. They all have a slot screw on both sides of the strap but I can't get them undone. I hold 1 screw and turn the other but it does not back out. I tried a number of them with no success. Any hints would be welcome.

I have the Sherwood Avid and have removed and repositioned the clips quite a bit. The procedure you are using should work. If you haven't already done so, try holding the clip carefully with a pair of pliers and then use the screwdriver and try both ends. Worst scenerio, the clips can be easily cut through and removed.
