I found a couple old pictures of the anchor at the Destin Jetties back when it wasn't covered with sand. Those were the good old days ....

If you could pull either one of em, you da man. Both those anchors are huge, but they're both under sand at the moment :/

That being said, there IS(or atleast was) a big anchor out in Perdido Pass too.

any idea how those anchors got there in the first place?

Ok, my turn to play. I think I took this in 2007 with a disposable camera....that is SeaYoda.

While looking for anchor pictures I found one of this guy.....who the heck is this? Bathing suit, tank top, weird looking mask, and molesting crabs....and if you look closely I believe those just might be SPLIT FINS!

Tanktop? Psssh, thats just my jacket BC! Also Twin Jet split fins, Jetty gloves, and I miss that old mask, and I damned sure wish I could get away with diving sans wetsuit more often!

I'm guessing they were lost/abandoned when in use in one of the many dredging operations that operate in the pass every so many years....

SeaYoda might have better history.

Your tank is on the wrong spot there Mat. Isn't it supposed to be clipped off to your side!

This summer when I dove the Jetties the vis was so poor I couldn't have found the anchor even if it was still visible. Hopefully this season will be different.
