Hello All;

I own a Mares Proton 12 regulator that I bought 30 days ago and I have used in 10 dives. I have noticed that when I go bellow 30' it makes a noise when I breath. I was wondering if this is normal or should I take it the the dealer????

Thanks for your feed back

I should add that the noise comes from the second stage. It sounds that the noise comes from the "membrane" that vibrates with the air inflow....

A vibrating diaphragm in the second stage while on the surface is normal, but any vibration underwater is very unusual. I'd take it in and have it checked.

I have no idea... but my advice would be: any even remotely unusual thing happening to your regulator merits *at least* a talk with the dealer. After all, the regulator is not an optional piece of equipment.

Thank you guys...just had it checked and the problem is solved so I am ready for my next dive next week..:)

what was it?
