Because of frequent moves, I have no relationship with a LDS. I used to send my regs to ScubaToys in Dallas for annual inspection / servicing, but the sparse reviews on Yelp leave me wondering if they are still a good option. (I realize there are many issues with Yelp; it's a datapoint.)

Anyone else who ships their regs off for service and have a recommendation?

Being outside the US I’m not much help for you, but if all roads lead to rome and you gotta service it, and it’s the route of “ship to service” I’d always pick @rsingler ( tho he might be a bit busy 🤷🏽‍♀️ — sorry good Dr I tagged you too many times this last couple of weeks)

You might get better suggestions (from others) if we know what regs you have
If you do have D6 regs you can ship directly to HQ and they service it for you
Just my 1% of 2cents

(For context I service myself, after taking the Rsingler class)

While my permanent home is in Mexico, I'm in the US for a couple of months. But this, again, is why I don't have a relationship with a local dive shop here.

All the more reason to service with someone that’s trustworthy and skillful (without having a “relationship” with) — Rsingler is drippin with skill

The dude is a magician ( wrote service manuals for a bunch of reg brands, and is currently the Poseidon USA tech trainer)
He’s one of 2 ppl on the planet tgt Id trust with my regs

Another route is to learn to DIY, he can also help you open that door

Drop him a PM and see where it goes

Why not look for a tech in La Paz? The problem with mail order service is that if they get something wrong or, more likely, that it needs an adjustment after some use, you have to either ship it back or find a local shop anyway.

Based on nothing except a cursory Google Maps search and vibes, I'd start by visiting Scuba Tek

I do. I use Airtech Scuba Services in NC. They have been outstanding!
