I've done several searches and have found the topic of what regulators folks use for their deco gas touched upon but not specifically discussed. Some, perhaps most, regs can be cleaned and preped for use with high percentages of O2 (>40% and up to 100%) while some cannot. It's tough to find clear information on which ones can/cannot and which ones technical divers typically use for their simplicity, ease of maintenance and ability to be O2 cleaned.

So, what regulator(s) do you use on your deco bottles? Were they O2 clean and ready for use with high O2 percentages out of the box (I know few come this way), or did you have to have them O2 cleaned?

Around here I see a very big mix of deco regs, primarily sealed diaphragm first stages. I'd say Apek's probably are the most used, I see a fair bit of Oceanic on deco bottles as well. I have a couple of Oceanic's and a Zeagle I will be choosing between for my deco bottles when I take that course this summer. One or two of the Apek's I've seen came out of the box for high O2 %, but the vast majority of the deco regs used around here are just regular regs that have been O2 cleaned.

Hope this helps.

I have a Dive Rite RG2500 on my 02 bottle, and will put one on my 50% as well.

Do you know which Oceanic's you've seen used on deco bottles? Specifically I'm wondering if the CDX-5 1st stage and GT3 2nd stage can be used with O2 if properly cleaned?

I have 2 CDX5-Omega II's that I will likely be using, and I was told by Oceanic that all of their regs can be O2 cleaned without any problem.

The other one I have seen around here a bit is the CDX5-Alpha 8 combo for deco.

I use DR 2500s on my primary and backup, but have a Mares Rebel on my deco. The Mares Rebel comes certified O2 clean from the factory, and has a reasonable cost for the application.

I have sold several different regulators to people for deco bottles and stage bottles. The Dive Rite RG3000 would be great, the ScubaMax XR2002, and the Oceanic regs.

I currently have sale on the CDX5/GT3 non-dvt regulator at only $179 each. That also qualifies for free shipping. At this price, this is a hard regulator to beat. If you want one of these at the sale price, you have to phone the order. Just call (800) 601-DIVE and we will get one right out to you.

So you aren't actually using them? Why are you giving advice on something you have never done?

Or is this just your attempt to hit 1,200 posts by this weekend? Or 1,500 before you 60th dive?

Basically, you can use any regs except a titanium material.

Only controversial issue on the deco reg is whether you have to use an entry level or same kinds of regs as BM regs...
