I was about to say the same.

@Kay Dee - that picture hurts. Not one, but two!
Well.....sometimes....... ya just gotta use what ya just gotta use (especially when, miles for nowhere, in the middle of the South China Sea). After all "what works, works". And not two.....but three! :76feet:

And then there's 'cleaning out da pipes with a wood drill'. And BTW, please, please, if ya gonna laugh at my choice of tools, at least note they are all o2 clean, and the neat and tidy o2 contemptible work space also. So there.
:coffee: :letsparty:

Now, where's that build check list, and why do I have these screws left over? :banghead:

Just curious to know. Anyone? And why?
Cheers.

Yeah big time!! Because once you get one you will want another and another, etc. It gets really expensive real quick.

Next you will realize now that you have a rebreather you can go much further for long ]er and you will not want to kick that much so you will buy a scooter to then realize 1 is none and 2 is one so before you know if you will have a garage full of rebreathers, scooters, and tanks oh my.

As a numbers guy, I sometimes get stuck on no longer getting as many dives. I have to force myself to notice I'm getting 3 times as much in water time.

Haha yeah I noticed that recently on one of units. I just upgraded to the new Petrel 3 and I was randomly looking in the adv. setting and noticed I only have 23 dives on it and thought that did not seem like very much but it was actually almost 104hr underwater.

Inevitably? I know one person who had to send theirs to Europe, and it was a second-hand analog unit. On the DiveCAN units, things are more modular and there’s very little that requires a factory rebuild (rather than RebreathersUSA) as far as I know.

This was the conversation I had with Jeff several times. If it's changed that's definitely useful although I'm still inclined towards a needle valve MCCR.

There was a little bit of time between when I started training and finally started using it. WTF did I get myself into? Then that passed and have not looked back.

OK, a little looking back. Prior tech training wasn't as solid as it should have been. Thought I knew what I needed to know. Once I got into the rebreather I realized that my prior training wasn't that good. I've been thinking of taking a real fundies class, which might be a bit strange. What I am not looking forward to is having to go back to OC to take the fundies that I really should do.
Starting this year, GUE changed their class curriculum. IIRC, there are now other classes offered to already-certified divers besides fundamentals, doubles primer, and drysuit primer. (Recreational fundamentals is now separate from technical fundamentals.) Did you look into GUE classes recently?
