Took my Atomic M1 and Ti2 Octo into Dive N Surf for its 2 Year Service and asked Jocko to do a full rebuild on the 1st and 2nd stages vs replace as needed. This took only a few days but more importantly, Jocko checked all the hoses and found my low pressure BC inflator hose had a bubble in it.

The bubble was under the boot covering the end of the hose at the 1st stage end and something I would not normally see. We put on safety glasses and he showed me the damage hose on the test rig. There is absolutely no question this hose was about to fail.

Get your regs serviced and make sure your hoses are checked as well.

Good catch on the damaged hose.

I recently sent my B2 set back to Atomic for services.

When Atomic perform your service, they basically rebuild your internals and replace the externals so you effectively get what looks like a brand new reg but they charge a few bucks more this.

I elected to get the internals rebuilt only via my local dive store. My externals were looking fine with only two years wear on them.

Regards Dwayne

My externals still looked OK with only a bit of scratches. Replacing the plastics wasn't a priority for me. I just liked the way Atomic hooking up the reg to a breathing machine to make sure that it works to specs after the service before sending it back to the customer. Definitely not cheap though. Around $70 per regulator stage. That'd be around $210 if you were to send in 1st stage, second stage & octo. Of course, if you want environmental seal, then it'd be around $30-40 more for the magic lube.

It sounds good but a brand new reg from Atomic I purchased which I know came straight from the factory to me had a bad 1st stage o ring. It breathed fine.
