Hi all - haven't dove for a few years, mainly Caribbean dives. Am looking for maybe a refresher dive in Mass - I own no gear - the shop I got certified at (Pro Divers USA) has gone out of business. Can anyone recommend a shop that has a decent rental package and/or trips, maybe I will do a few this summer - Thanks! :10:

Look up Butch at DiveDay. Great instructor. butch@diveday.com

I could have made that same post two years ago! Certified by ProDivers in 1984 and just a bunch of Caribbean and other vacation dives for me until recently.

I'd advise to do a refresher course(but, I jumped right into a AOW Class in Rhody...der) with a local dive shop in your area. My buddy(my brother) and I both use South Shore Divers on Rte 3A in Weymouth by the Fore River Bridge. We are happy with the hours and the helpful staff. Convenient for you since it's near Braintree, give them a call. There are others in Attleboro, Plymouth, Sandwich and, I think, Marshfield. I'd just try to stay South of Boston unless you work north of the city. Besides, I can't recommend any shop up North--South Shore guy, here. Nows the time to start looking.

Good Luck and don't forget to get a lobster permit!

You could also call Central Mass SCUBA in Worcester to ask about a refresher class. Their website is www.centralmassscuba.com.

Good luck.

Hi,

The refresher course is free at PG Dive, they do them on all mondays. Call ahead if you're interested. They do some promotions on other things but the Refreshers are always free.

If you are used to Caribbean diving, then jumping into Massachusetts water will be... refreshing. To say the least.

SCUBA refreshers are usually done in the pool...which is a Carribean like 81.f!
