I've had some experience surveying the reef life on the Reef Balls on Eluthera in the Bahamas. The artificial reefs installed there didn't harbor as much life as expected, but I'm sure they can be helpful in different environments.

I like the idea though! Anything to help the reefs!
 
This is a cool way to have a really long dive without your computer yelling at you! It is a nice idea that you could help the reefs instead of just taking up space in the ground.
 
This is my plan too - need to get it in writing.
