Reedsport, OR diving

Hello! I am hoping to go diving in or around Reedsport, OR, over a 3-day weekend. Can anyone here recommend any dive sites in the area? Also, any info you could pass along regarding nearby dive shops would be helpful as well!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I lived in Florence, 30 miles north of Reedsport for 10 years. Your best diving will be in the Siuslaw (sigh-ooos- la) River Jetty. The Jetty dive site is one of the best on the central Oregon Coast, but that's not saying much.

There is a good dive shop in Florence called the Central Coast Watersports. They are in the center of town on the west side of the coast highway at 1901 Hwy 101. Their phone number is 541-997-1812.

The jetty dive is very tide dependant, so it's important to get a dive briefing from the dive shop before you head out to dive.

If you like dungeness crab, bring a goody bag- it's a good spot for them.
