Bummer! Hopefullly, we're not moving back into into a cycle of stinky red tide with foambergs like we had a while back.

Bummer! I was planning on diving at Vets tonight. I guess we need to go elsewhere. Will people still be diving there, even with a red tide?

Sometimes you can get decent vis below the red-tide layer.

I have a practice session scheduled but if it's red tide we will either bin it or just fun dive since we want to be at 20-30 feet.

MaxBottomtime:
It was slightly better than ten feet vis down to about 90 feet. Above 25 feet is was like diving at Starbucks.

It was better tonight. 15 feet vis deeper than about 15 feet depth.
Waves were like a parking lot.
We got there early and avoided the crowds.

I dove there last night as well. I came across a pacific electric ray 1.5' + diameter. (poor image attached)

This is the third siting I personally know of recently.

Have others noticed an increase of this critter?

Wow, cool! I didn't see this guy! I wish I had, tho...I personally thought last night was rather lacking in the marine life department. Lots of squid eggs, but not too much else of interest.

I did love the glassy surface! Not only were there no waves, there was practically no MOVEMENT! It was like entering a swimming pool, no exaggeration. Anyway, re the red tide, I didn't see any on the way out, but we ended up in some red murk on the way back, starting at about 15 or 20 fsw, I think. It was never that bad, tho. And the vis was great below that.
