I'm thinking of joining Emperor Divers Liveaboard in March, 2012. Any feedback, dive conditions, water temp, etc. It's really far for me from Western Canada and I am getting major mixed reviews on whether it's worth the trip. I want to dive anywhere but Caribbean and since I have to travel a long ways I would like to make sure it's worth my while...looking forward to your posts.

You may get a better response if you post in the Red Sea section of this board (sub-section under Africa)

Also - what part of the Red Sea will you be diving at that time of year?

Try this web-site for some guidance regarding time of year, water temps and marine life - great source of info

RED SEA YEAR - TIME TABLE

I've never been on the Emperor....only Blue O Two (Blue Melody). Great liveaboard experience (Deep South itinerary).

Hi - just saw your post here. I can give you lots of help and advice on diving the Red Sea - I work for Fly & Sea Dive Adventures and we sell a lot of Emperor Divers. In fact, we're probably their No.1 reseller in N. America. PLUS - we're located in Western Canada - Surrey to be precise. And we usually arrange sightseeing in Egypt (Pyramids etc) alongside the diving, as much or as little as you want. March is the beginning of the water warming up in the Red Sea and depending on your route (South or North) the water will be around 72F - 75F. Still warmer than here in BC, but not as warm as it can be later in the year. But topside the temperatures are very pleasant, something to consider as well. Feel free to give me a call 1-888-995-3483 or local 604-596-2060

I'm going on Gold Class emperor superior liveaboard this November with a friend. **Wrecks and reef itinerary** Was looking into some feedback and reviews about the cie, but there is more or less reviews...
Will keep you posted about our dive trip. If you have any other info, let keep me posted as well.

Can i suggest that you post your enquiry on

Yorkshire Divers - Scuba Diving Forums, Articles, Reviews and Community

Its the best UK diving forum. Many more UK divers go to the Red Sea (its cheap & close), so you may get much more info.

I've only done Red Sea 3 times: general view - great dive sites, but very busy. Quite common to have 10-15 boats at a dive site.

hope this is of help

My husband and I dove the Red Sea last Sept with Emperor Divers on the Elite and did the Brothers. Fantastic trip! Best live aboard we ever did. The DM and crew were great. I would do the same trip again. The reefs were beautiful. There were a lot of boats moored at the reefs, so that means quite a few divers, everywhere. But that did not distract from the diving! We booked a land trip through Fly and Sea and that was a great experience also. Highly recommend Fly and Sea. Have a great time. Wish I were going! Only one thing that could be added- a photographer needs to be on board to shot stills and video. Lots of divers taking pictures, but no one taking pictures of them!

I recommend to check aziab.com's Red Sea time table too, there are plenty of useful information. March isn't the best season for a liveaboard trip to Egypt, because the water is not too warm. On a usual trip you do 4 dives, 1 hour long each per day and it's much more comfortable if the water and the air is warmer. However there are people who like Red Sea liveaboards in March- but in Sudan where the water is warm even in spring. There are much less dive boat and more sharks, wrecks like the Umbria or Cousteau's underwater lab.

Was on two of Emperor's Gold level boats out of Hurgada two years ago - Infinity and Superior. Very nice boats, good crew. Had a great time.
