Hello,
I am in the market for an underwater camera (or gopro, etc), and I am amazed at the amount of red filters available for them, and their high usage/recommendations among photographers. I recently had to get rid of my seavision demag mask, but I have never come across anyone who wore that style of mask, with the red lenses that bring back color at depth. considering the high incidence of red filters in photo/videography, why don't more people use it on their masks also?

Interesting. I never thought about it. I want to try that one day.

Part of the reason is they reduce for light transmission so it is like wearing sunglasses under water. They are OK on a tropical reef with bright sun but not as good in lower vis, or cloudy conditions.
