Shooting video with a DSLR --

Does anyone have any ideas where I might find a color correcting filter for an 8" Ikelite dome port?

Thanks.

Put the filter on the lens inside the dome port

That would only work for a narrow depth range and particular lighting conditions. The filter has to be removable.

For using filters with DSLRs, the current approach is to use Magic Filters here is a link to them from Backscatter, but any of the camera companies sell them whether you use Reef Photo or anyone else: Magic Filters for Digital Photography Underwater

The filters are pre-cut to slip in the filter holders in various Canon/Nikon lenses which are located behind the rear element of the lenses. They are available for blue water and green water filtration for most wide angle lenses. This is not as flexible as a flip-down filter found in a dedicated video housing, as the filter must be installed before the dive and cannot be changed without disassembling the housing and removing the filter. The filter also cuts about two stops of light, so good visibility and sunlight is key to avoid pushing the ISO too far. But with the right conditions, they yield fabulous results. I am not sure if you saw Berkley's dolphin footage but he shot that using Magic Filters and it was awesome. Hope this helps...

They also sell Magic Filters in bulk size sheets that you custom cut. There is no filter holder for a Canon using the Tokina 10-17 so you cut the filter to fit the rear element and tape it in place.

I suppose this is about as good of a solution as a ring filter that would screw on to the front of the lens?

What I am really looking for though is something like a wet filter than can be attached or removed mid dive. If I can purchase a sheet of the stuff that Ikelite uses to make their filters I am sure I can engineer a way to hold it to the dome port.
