I have a lightly used trilam suit I bought for less than the value of the zipper. Everything fits well except for the boots which are two sizes too small. Given the discount nature of the project I don't want to pay $100-150 for new boots and I would prefer to try neoprene socks anyway. I own several pairs of fishing waders in good repair with neoprene socks that fit me perfectly. I thought of sacrificing one set to replace the boots on the drysuit. The wader sock are made of some high density compressed neoprene, about 3mm; very tough.

Anyone tried this? If I try it and it works, I may use some of the remaining wader neoprene to craft a replacement collar when the latex rips.

Looks like I'm either a genius or a fool.

Not in my opinion...I would like to see how it turns out.
