My deco SPG is on a 6-inch HP hose. I currently use cave line to hold it in place behind my MK25.

Instead of cave line, I'd like to try an O-ring. I believe a common strategy is to put an O-ring around the HP hose where it meets the regulator, then stretch it over the top of the regulator body, and then loop it around the SPG. You can then easily remove the O-ring when storing the regulator to let the HP hose relax, perhaps preventing damage.

What's a good O-ring for this?

So what happens when you bend and unbend a piece of metal a few times other than heat

I use a loop of bungee for this, but years ago I asked myself the same question Happy-diver asked, and I now just leave it bent.

I use Apeks and in the apeks service kits there are always a gazillion orings to cover for different models.
The biggest leftovers works charmingly for this purpose. I normally use 2 intertangled, so if one breaks, I wont loseit and loose the function, or even more important, it will come with me back up, even if it broke,.

I appreciate the thought people put into suggesting bungie. I've actually used that before. I'm looking to try out an O-ring this time. So far, it sounds like nobody has a specific size they know works.

A 214 will have strength but maybe not enough stretch. A thinner oring will stretch but might not be strong enough.

Maybe try a silicone snorkel keeper. They have lots of uses.
