Recommended Liveaboard for October?

I'd hoped to get to the Similan islands, but it looks like it's still November 15th (or maybe November 1st) and I'm leaving Phuket on 22nd October. Was looking for any recommendations for live aboards. Specifically:

1. Where to dive
2. What operators to consider (I have a long list from searching the forum, but not sure how to turn it to short list!)
3. How to book

I ask 3 because it seems like from what I can tell the dive centers here are a combination of center/tour operator, and they seem to all sell the same few boats. Will I be better off booking the live aboards online or via a local DC (will they add value and/or add cost)?

Check The Witch, Manta Queen and A8 Similans - Liveaboard diving Phuket and Similans Thailand with Thailand Liveaboards (thailand-scuba.com), all with confirmed departures in October.

The price will be the same, whether you book through a DC on the island, online or with the operator directly.

I've done a few trips with Khao Lak Scuba Adventure Safaris in the past and enjoyed it. You can book online with most of the links you see here. In the end most operators are the same.. depends on what level of luxury you want on the boat.
