Recommended Dive Operators out of Sharm El Sheikh

Watching this too. I have a flight to Egypt in 2 wks, although not Sharm.

Hope the bomb theory turns out to be wrong and the proof shows up soon.

Or you could pack your BCs pockets with fish guts and hot dogs and go great white diving without a cage.

Had a friend tell me the best time to visit his country was right after a bombing since then all the police and security were very alert and not complacent. Not sure if I believed him but sounded good.

Colona and Emperor are 2 in Sharm that come to mind as decent operators. There are plenty of others though.

Suspect it'll be safer than normal for the next few weeks while the officials who are normally far more interested in playing on their phone and robbing the tourists at the airport pretend to be professional.

Well, at least for a couple of days, MOST FLIGHTS are cancelled to and from Sharm El Sheik.

A big +1 for Emperor. Hugely professional and they run reasonably sized boats which were at a fraction of their capacity earlier this year, so I can only imagine how quiet they'll be when the resort opens up again. Great news for those diving soon, not so good for Emperor and the longer term.

What about Red Sea college? Seems I've heard a fair bit about them too.

BTW I noticed that Colona Divers has a FB page with lots of comments by recent customers. Look at it, you might even see someone you know: diving can be a small world sometimes.

Best thing to do is take a bomb onboard yourself. Chances of two are then infinitisimally small.

As I said, and this kind of went un-noticed, sharm airport may be closed for awhile. If I were you I would fly to Hurghada and chosse an operator that works from there or Safaga. Also, to investigate: are they ferries that link Hurghada to Sharm. Otherwies, take a north cruise from Hurghada. Then you will dive the major sites from the North around Hurghada.

I'm due to fly into Sharm 2 weeks today, but it's looking increasingly unlikely. If the Foreign Office advice is still "Essential Travel Only" I will at least get my money back on the insurance, and I'll put that - and the holiday time - towards a trip to Cozumel sometime after Xmas. The only downside is that my Egypt-hating wife will want to come too.
