Recommendations, Port Aransas area

My wife (non-diver) and I are thinking of taking a long weekend in the Port Aransas area the first part of May.

Can anyone recommend a good SCUBA day trip that I might check into?

Geez, there's a scuba shop still in operation in Port Aransas? Wonder how long this one'll last.

Why the bad track record in PA? There's a new shop in Aransas Pass, as well, though.

ASCUBA Venture & Copelands are both well established shops on SPID (main road to island) in Corpus. They conduct day trips to rigs. In-shore visability is generaly pretty bad in the spring so you may have to go 20 to 30 miles off shore for good vis. Spring seas will make many of those trips a bit difficult.
