HELLO: I will be traveling in New Zealand during the week of October 29th to November 2, and in Australia November 3 to the 9th. I hope to spend a day diving in each. Will be in Wellington area and South Island. In Australia, between Syndney and Melbourne, but can go North. Any recommendation on specific sites and operators is appreciated. Have viewed other postings, but appreciate new information. I am your basic 90 Foot Nitrox Diver. Thanks in Advance. John

:happywave

for the aussie stuff, in sydney - is there anything in particular you want to see??

grey nurse sharks are in at magic point/marubra but this is a boat dive

weedy sea dragons at Kurnell is a must if you ask me but best you do this on a incoming tide and its a easy shore dive

dozens of seahorses around the manly and balmoral nets but very shallow and nothing else to see

and Bare Island is my fav shore dive, lots to see

and where will you be staying in sydney..... that will help me in pointing out the better shops

cheers

Thanks. Will be without gear, so looking for a group to outfit and lead. No definite hotel location in Sydney due to business concerns and time frame unsettled. Thanks Again. John

Thanks All. Ended Up Going To Cains For A Few Days Diving, Worth It, And Spent A Few Days In Sydney, Staying At Lord Nelson Brewery Pub In The Rocks, Well Worth It. Thanks For All Direct Replies And Messages. John

G'day THX1138 (great movie btw), If you ever make it to Aus again you might want to head for the top end (Northern Territory) during the dry (roughly April to October). There's plenty of tidal currents and the viz may not be great, but there is a lot of wildlife from small to large and plenty of historic wrecks in Darwin Harbour (5 times bigger than Sydney Harbour, as the locals will keep reminding you). You can combine it with visits to some spectacular National Parks, such as Kakadu and Litchfield, check out the salties (saltwater crocodiles) and experience warm sunshine every day. They have a nice, laid-back lifestyle up here.

No worries

Hello Peter: Thanks I Will Keep That In Mind. When I Was In Australia Everyone Kept Talking About Fiji, So I Will Aim There First. Thanks John[-][/-]

New Zealand -Poor Knights Islands or Cavali Islands and Rainbow warrior in Northland are both awesome dives.
I presume You mean this year.
Fiji mainland dives are disappointing the brain coral is all thats ledt inside the reefs, crown o thorn ate all the rest and I never saw a fish longer than my finger.

:ignore: i try not to discuss my feelings about Fiji.... for my money, vanuatu is my fav place

did i mention a wreck shore dive that is the size of the titanic??? ;)
