Hi everyone,

I'm heading to the BVI in January '09 - I have a few days to kill before my boyfriend (a non-diver who has to fulfill a work commitment first) joins me, so I'm aiming to get my diving fix then.

I was thinking of heading for Virgin Gorda and using DiveBVI, but I'm currently not fixated on any specific location in the BVI.

Does anyone have any reputable but inexpensive lodging recommendations for a solo female traveler who doesn't need fancy digs? Your recommendations can talk me out of Virgin Gorda if you have a better idea. :)

Thanks for any pointers!

Send me a PM. We can help you in finding a great spot to stay on VG.

Jeff

You can muscle some pretty good deals out of local hotels at the moment - they are all really short of bookings and laying off staff, so you have some good leverage.

If you are going to Virgin Gorda, I'll defer to VGDiver. Personally if I was on vacation I'd probably stay on VG too, all else being equal. If you do decide to stay on Tortola, I'd probably check out the hotels at Hodge's Creek Marina and Nanny Cay; only because then you don't to fuss with taxis (which can be expensive) to get to a decent dive shop.
