Best dive shop in the area= Playascuba, Playa Scuba Dive Center * Diving in Playa del Carmen * Diving in Cozumel * Diving in Cenotes* Diving in Mexico

they have the best prices, and the dive masters know every little secret about the area, they discovered the Dos Ojos cenote, so they know almost everything about it.

Places you must dive:

Mama Vina wreck: a beautiful 130' long fishing boat sunk to 85', great dive, many barracudas.

Tortugas: Like the name implies, there are a lot of turtles here, along with many bull sharks in the winter, and tarpons in the summertime, guaranteed great dive.

Cenotes:

Dos Ojos: A beautiful basic cenote discovered by Klaus Regenberg, who is a dive instructor at playascuba, and a great guy. This Cenote has a bat cave as well, and many other sections which are all beautiful. There is a halocline, and mayan drawings on the walls. Depth:15-35'

Grand Cenote: Beautiful open cenote with great cave formations, and a HUGE bat cave and hidden beach, catfish can easily be found, great for snorkelers too. Depth: 20-40'

Temple of Doom: Lot's of visual distortions in this cenote, very distinct halocline, you must jump into this cenote with all of your gear on, about a 10 foot jump, so this one might be only for the more adventurous divers, it is my favorite cenote. Depth: 20-55'

The Pit: Part of the Dos Ojos system, this is one of the deepest cenotes in the area, only for really brave souls, but well worth the bravery. It descends to 140' and there are many haloclines and as an added bonus there is a cloud of hydrogen sulfide, which is a poison, that you must pass through to get to the bottom. In water the cloud is not poisonous, but once you get out you must wash down in fresh water for a bit. GREAT DIVE.

Cozumel: You must take the 25 dollar ferry trip to cozumel to dive and go to downtown cozumel. The diving on palancar reef is incredible, great drift diving, with a lot of rapid current diving for the more adventurous.

Places you must visit: There is a lot of mayan culture here, visit Tulum, Citzen Itza (probably didnt spell that right), and Coba. At Coba you can scale the ruins themselves, making it my favorite destination. You should check out the sky diving that goes on at Playa del Carmen as well, beautiful views await you.

Punta Laguna, no one knows about this place, people usually go there to look at the monkeys in the jungle, but if you ask the people there, there is a cenote with over 120 mayan sacrificial skeletons in it.

I am sorry i cannot post pictures right now, the internet here is very slow, and that would take hours.
