Hello... I have posted here once before...but I was wondering if there is anybody on here that has a PFO/Aneurysm.

(I know that this condition can be a problem if you scuba dive)

I do not Scuba Dive, but would like to talk to someone that knows info. about this conition. I have it and am wondering whether I should monitor it on a regular basis. I have seen 4 different cardiologists and 2 said to get an echo once a year, and the other 2 did not even mention to me about watching it or getting any other tests done.

I have done alot of research on this and really have not found whether I should get any tests ran yearly or not. One person I have talked to on the internet said that it does get worse with age.... so that makes me very nervous.

If anybody has any info. I would really appreciate it if you could write me back.
Thank You

I have a PFO but not with Aneurysm. I can only tell you what my cardiologist told me. As long as I'm not diving, it's normally not a big problem and I do not have to do any kind of follow-up testing. He did put me on asprin therapy because I also have high cholesterol.

Obviously, your case is very different from mine. You should probably choose a docotor you trust and stick with his/her recommendations.

I did a quick google search and found a couple of message boards which may be more helpful to you. One is Health Boards and the other is Creation Center. Both of these message boards are stroke related because that is the main concern with PFO.

Good luck in finding the information that you need.
