I will be diving at RCCL's private island, coco cay, in 2 weeks. I am curious to know what people thought of the dive. Since I can't dive in Nassau due to time restrictions,I hope it is a somewhat nice dive.

Seen this?

In a sparser environment like that, slow down and take your time. By doing so you'll find things you might otherwise miss. Like that spotted eel near the end of the video. I can't count the number of times that I've seen stuff my buddies never saw - often they scared it into moving as they passed. It's a shallow dive so should be a long one.

I have seen this video and a few others just to get a sense of what the dive is like. Judging by the videos I've seen, it is pretty shallow but I've noticed some eels and stingrays in the videos. I'm thinking of bring my 5mm wetsuit for this dive because it will be December in the Bahamas. I've never dove in the tropics before so I think it's better to be safe then sorry.

Should be around 75-78o. Maybe slightly warmer since it's shallow. So a 5MM would be good.

You're only doing the one dive so shouldn't get too cold.

Don't touch the Lionfish...:D

Thanks. Hopefully I wont see one. I am excited to dive in this environment, instead of a cold lake like I was certified in. I am renting the equipment on this dive because I am still a fairly new diver and do not want to lug equipment around the cruise ship.

Personally I think they're pretty cool to look at - I owned one once. But very destructive in the Caribbean. Judging from that video you might. Unless they're culling them there now, then you probably won't - they've adapted in some areas and hide from divers - who potentially carry lionfish spears.

True. Judging by the videos I have seen too, it looks like an easy going dive. Perfect for me. The videos also showed me that the rental equipment looks good too.
