Yeah, I know all about the problems with the ATOM 2, mine was stuck in Gauge mode and I needed a computer (was working as a DM) so I went out and bought the stinger...I think I'll be sending back the ATOM and upgrading to the D9...then I can always just rent out my stinger...(now I'm getting off topic).
 
The Vytec (and probably most of the other newer Suunto's) offer the ability to go less conservative I think on the modeling. I am not holding my computer now, but I remember there being a way to set more or less conservative dive assumptions - like RGBM, 1/2 RGBM or something like that.

Helpful aren't I? At least I have set you upon the path to enlightenment. :)
