Rawlings this weekend?

My friend and I are planning on going one of these two mornings. Is it likely to be more or less crowded given the holiday weekend? How early should you get there to park anywhere not in Siberia?

Anyone know the water temp there now (say at 30 ft.)?

Just to respond to myself.....We ended up going on 7/5 as the threat of passing thunderstorms was much less and we ended up choosing correctly! It was perfect....very little dive traffic in the water. Couldn't have been more than 40 divers we saw in the four hours we were there. Loading/unloading/parking was a snap.

Water temps definitely dropped significantly below about 25 feet and there was reportedly another thermocline down about 35-40 feet (which we never got to!). Water was plenty cold at our 33 feet max depth (probably mid 60's). Was wearing a 5-4-3 wet suit with no gloves or hood.

I would definitely go here on another holiday weekend when I can. Very quiet. Visibility was better than I remember it and I saw tons of things I had missed during my OW training sessions in late April.

Going to Rawlings on Sunday morning July 11. If anyone needs any dive buddies. A small group of us are going to work on skills etc. I am going to begin my new doubles, others on are newly certified, and a few advanced. Not any classes, just for fun. Let me know \G
