Ok. I always just used J&J because I wasn't happy with defoggers, I like the smell of J&J and it doesn't burn eyes. Maybe I just got lucky. It works for me.

And spit in the mask while it is still dry. Doesn't work as well if mask lens is wet.I could never understand what all the discussion is over mask defog.
I use a ratio of 0% soap/shampoo/etc to 0% water to 100% spit, one in each lense, light rinse in whatever water I will be diving in and I am good to go. Never any mask fog issues.
I do realize that I have a special mask and guard it like the golden goose that it is.
Then why did you mention "soap"?
